The city of White Hall lost a vital and devoted citizen on Feb. 25 when Ned Tomboli died on the day after his 73rd birthday.

Leslie Raymond “Les” Edwards, 90 of White Hall died Wednesday, Feb. 26 at his home in White Hall. He was born July 27, 1923 in Rye, Arkansas to the late Garfield and Oma Curry Edwards. He attended schools in Cleveland County and also served in the CCC for two years. Les later joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. After returning from the Navy, Les went to work at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and worked as a general foreman in the production division. He retired from the Arsenal in 1974 and joined the White Hall School District and was over the maintenance for over twenty years. Les was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he was a past Sunday School Superintendent. He was a charter member of the American Legion White Hall Post #232 and a member of the Jacob Brump Lodge #160. He was a member of the first White Hall Planning Commission and also did much volunteer work for the community. Les was an avid fisherman, golfer, love gardening, and enjoyed umpiring softball and baseball.
WHITE HALL — Frances Marlene Chambliss, 87, of White Hall, Ark., passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab. She was born March 26, 1926, in Yorktown, to James A. and Eunice Gage Waters. She was reared and educated in Star City.

WHITE HALL — Jerald (Jerry) Wayne Lindsey, 63, of White Hall, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Jerry was born August 17, 1950 in Forrest City. He is preceded in death by parents Clyde and Loudean Lindsey of Moro, Ark.
