Floy Hoerner

METAIRIE, La. — Floy Mae (Warner) Hoerner, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Hoerner and her son, Fay Starr Jr.

Dale Atkinson, Jr.

WHITE HALL — Dale Atkinson, Jr., 51 of White Hall passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born September 2, 1962 in Great Falls, Mont. to Sandra Brutosky and the late Dale Atkinson, Sr. He was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran and worked in the water department at the Pine Bluff Arsenal.

Jenett Demetre

WHITE HALL — Jenett Efird Demetre, 64 of White Hall passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was born July 7, 1949 in Jefferson County, Ark. to the late Arnold W. and Jettie Clingan Efird.

Longtime Arsenal, WH school employeee Edwards dies at 90.

Leslie Raymond “Les” Edwards, 90 of White Hall died Wednesday, Feb. 26 at his home in White Hall. He was born July 27, 1923 in Rye, Arkansas to the late Garfield and Oma Curry Edwards. He attended schools in Cleveland County and also served in the CCC for two years. Les later joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. After returning from the Navy, Les went to work at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and worked as a general foreman in the production division. He retired from the Arsenal in 1974 and joined the White Hall School District and was over the maintenance for over twenty years. Les was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he was a past Sunday School Superintendent. He was a charter member of the American Legion White Hall Post #232 and a member of the Jacob Brump Lodge #160. He was a member of the first White Hall Planning Commission and also did much volunteer work for the community. Les was an avid fisherman, golfer, love gardening, and enjoyed umpiring softball and baseball.

Frances Chambliss

WHITE HALL — Frances Marlene Chambliss, 87, of White Hall, Ark., passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab. She was born March 26, 1926, in Yorktown, to James A. and Eunice Gage Waters. She was reared and educated in Star City.

Carolyn Smith

WHITE HALL — Carolyn J. Smith, 63, of White Hall, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born August 17, 1950, in Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Glen D. and Mary Hundley Nichols.
