On June 30 at 1:20 p.m., an accident was reported on the parking lot of Sandy Acres Grocery at 9225 U.S. 270.
Betty Shadwick of Sheridan said she was backing up to get out of the parking lot because it was too full of other vehicles and she could not drive through. She said as she was backing up, she felt and heard her vehicle hit something.
The 2005 Dodge driven by Shadwick received damage to the driver’s side rear fender and bumper.
The other driver, Shelby Boudra of White Hall said the parking lot was full of other vehicles at the gas pumps. She said she started backing up to get out of the way and and as she was backing up she saw a van backing up toward her. She said she stopped and tried to get out of the way but was unable to do so.
The 2014 Toyota driven by Boudra received damage to the passenger side rear fender and bmuper.
On July 2 at 7:10 p.m., Eunice Nyaguthll of Pine Bluff reported that she was traveling south of Arkansas 365 and at about the 7500 block, a deer crossed the highway from the same direction. The 2010 Toyota she was driving struck the deer, causing damage to the left front headlight, front bumper, hood and grille. The vehicle was also leaking fluid.
On July 7 at 1:30 p.m., an accident was reported on the parking lot at Sandy Acres at 9225 U.S. 270.
Shirley Spears of Pine Bluff said she had parked her vehicle at a gas pump and as she was pumping gas, another vehicle backed out of the parking lot and struck her vehicle.
The 2009 Scion driven by Spears received damage to the passenger side front fender.
The driver of the other vehicle, Teresa Yarbrough of West Monroe, La., said she was backing out of a parking space and did not realize the other vehicle was parked so close to her vehicle. She said she did not see the other vehicle until she struck it.
The 2008 Toyota driven by Yarbrough received damage to the passenger side rear bumper.
On July 8 at 6:25 p.m., an accident was reported on the parking lot of Cranford’s Fresh World at 8503 Dollarway Road.
Angela Marie Alnashif of White Hall said she was entering the parking lot when another vehicle backed out and struck the side of her vehicle.
The 2006 Lexus driven by Alnashif received damage to the left front quarter panel and door.
The driver of the other vehicle, Don Erick Light of Yukon, Okla., said he was backing out of a parking space and did not see the other vehicle.
The 2012 Dodge driven by Light received damage to the left front fender.
On July 8 at about 12:45 p.m., Officer Brent Bridges was notified that the Pine Bluff Police Department had Alexander Thompson, 25, in custody on a warrant from White Hall City Court for failure to comply with a bond of $400. The warrant was faxed to the adult detention center and taken out of the Arkansas Crime Information Center database.
On July 10, Officer Brent Bridges was notified that Paul Boykin, 23, was being detained by the Pine Bluff Police Department on a traffic stop because he had an active warrant from White Hall City Court for failure to comply with a bond of $465. Bridges met the Pine Bluff officer and transported Boykin to the adult detention center. The warrant was deleted from the Arkansas Crime Information Center database.
On July 10, an accident was reported on the parking lot of Bank of Star City at 7101 Dollarway Road.
The bank manager, David Carmichael reported that a vehicle had struck the window and wall of the bank jut north of the entrance.
The driver of the vehicle, Gary Depew of Sheridan said he was the driver of the vehicle and thought the vehicle was in park. He said he pressed the accelerator and the vehicle lunged and struck the building.
Depew was arrested on several outstanding warrants and his driver’s license was suspended.
On July 10 at 2 p.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported on U.S. 270 at its intersection with Interstate 530.
Courtney Hunter of White Hall said she was eastbound of U.S. 270 and had stopped for the traffic light just east of the interstate when her vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle.
Damage to the 2013 Ford driven by Hunter was estimated at $200.
The driver of the other vehicle, Joel Cobb of White Hall said he was eastbound on U.S. 270 and did not slow down or stop in time to avoid striking the vehicle in front of him.
Damage to the 2010 Toyota driven by Cobb was estimated at $200.
