White Hall Museum to host Memorial Day program

The White Hall Museum will host a Memorial Day program at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the museum’s Veteran’s Monument. Former Jefferson County sheriff Boe Fontaine will be the keynote speaker and Darryl Shumaker will call the names of those killed in action or missing in action.

WH School Board approves salary increase

White Hall School Board members agreed Tuesday that adjustments to their certified and classified salary schedules needed to be made in order for the district to stay competitive with comparable districts and to maintain teacher attainment.

Early Voting

Sabrina Self votes Tuesday at the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office in the White Hall School District’s proposed millage increase. Election officials said turnout was light with only 21 voters from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Early voting will continue during regular office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m through Friday, and again on Monday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Special election day voting will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.
