Anti-drug, no bullying messages spread to students

Students and faculty at White Hall Middle School recently celebrated Spirit Week with daily activities that served to promote a drug and bully free environment.

Each day, students and teachers came to school dressed for that day’s message. Throughout the week, the halls were filled with students dressed showing true school spirit as they dressed in everything from business suits, to geek attire and super hero outfits.

The message and dress for each day was organized by the school’s student council.

On Thursday, students were able to rally at a pep assembly were they learned about the purpose of drug seeking dogs. They were even able to see a demonstration of just how well the dogs do their job.

The true purpose for the week culminated on Friday afternoon as the over 600 students and faculty gathered on the football field to spell out “WHMS Drug and Bully Free” with their bodies as members of the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department flew overhead to take photographs of the message.
