UAPB loses fourth straight

LINCOLN, Neb. — Arkansas-Pine Bluff had three players reach double figures in scoring, but the Lady Lions were unable to climb out of an early deficit as No. 11 Nebraska won 78-55 Thursday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena, handing UAPB its fourth straight loss.

Nebraska All-American Jordan Hooper scored the first 12 points of the game in little more than 3 minutes and finished with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range.

Sophomore guard Sadie Murren added a career-high 12 points for Nebraska (4-0).

UAPB (1-4) closed the night 24-of-56 (42.9 percent) from the field and was led by Jazmyne Victorian with 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field. Cassidy Wright added 12 points, including a pair of three-pointers. Carlisha Walker chipped in 10 points with five rebounds and three steals.

UAPB will face Nebraska-Omaha at 1 p.m. Sunday.
