UAPB drops decision to Jackson State in final road contest


JACKSON, Miss. — In their final road game of the season, the Arkansas-Pine Bluff women’s basketball team dropped a 65-52 contest to Jackson State Monday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.

UAPB (3-24, 2-15 SWAC) was led by Jazmyne Victorian , who finished with a team high 10 points. Carlisha Walker chipped in with nine while Christina Lasane and Cassidy Wright contributed with eight points each for the Lady Lions.

Three players scored in double digits for JSU (12-14, 10-5). Ayanna Hardy-Fullers scored a game-high 12 points with nine rebounds. Alisa Ross added 10 and Ayanna Lynn contributed with 10 for JSU.

Marion Thompson had six points to go along with her team-high seven points.

Jackson State never trailed in the game as the Lady Tigers were 21 of 56 from (37.5 percent) and 22 of 31 (71 percent) from the free throw line.

The Lady Lions were 21 of 54 (38.9 percent) from the floor and 9 of 17 (52.9 percent) from the free throw line.

UAPB will close out the regular season with a home finale against Mississippi Valley State on Saturday at the H.O. Clemmons Arena. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
