Because of expected rainfall Monday, the start of Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s three-game baseball series against Pittsburgh has been moved to Saturday.
Game 1 will be played at 6 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Field to allow for lights. There will still be a doubleheader at the Torii Hunter Complex on Sunday beginning at noon.
Sunday is Senior Day for the Golden Lions (18-23, 14-6 SWAC), who’ll have their final home game Wednesday against Alcorn State and regular-season ending series next weekend at Texas Southern.
Pittsburgh is the biggest-name team ever to visit the Torii Hunter Complex in the ballpark’s four-year history. The Panthers are 17-22 and 9-12 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, but they are coming off a 13-4 win over No. 20-ranked Clemson on Sunday.
