Lady Lions’ skid continues


TUCSON, Ariz. — Sophomore Keyahndra Cannon scored a season-high 14 points to lead the Arizona women’s basketball team past Arkansas Pine-Bluff, 67-54, for its third-straight win on Sunday at McKale Center.

Senior Carissa Crutchfield and freshman Breanna Workman also scored in double-digits for the second-consecutive game.

Crutchfield was perfect on the day for Arizona (4-7) with 14 points, also hitting 4-of- 4 from the three-point arc for a total of 5-of-5 from the field.

Workman added 14 points of her own on 6-of-7 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from the free throw line.

Christina Lasane scored 13 points including 4 of 17 from the floor to lead the Lady Lions (1-9). Cassidy Wright contributed 12 points, including 4 of 4 from the free throw line.

Jazmyne Victorian came off the bench and scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds for the Lady Lions.

UAPB, which has now lost nine straight games, will face Mississippi Valley State on Jan. 4 to begin its SWAC schedule.
