CINCINNATI — Xavier (Ohio) had four players in double-figures in a 69-39 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in women’s basketball Sunday.
It was the third straight loss for the Lady Lions (1-3).
Carlisha Walker led UAPB with 12 points and six rebounds. She was 6-for-12 from the floor.
Overall, the Lady Lions shot 31 percent (17-of-54) for the game. They had no luck from long range, missing all nine of their attempts. The Lady Lions only went to the free throw line six times, making five.
Xavier was led by Ashley Wanninger, who finished the game with 17 points. Shatyra Hawkes added 13, while Briana Glover tallied 11 and Aliyah Zantt 10.
The Lady Lions trailed 36-18 at halftime. Xavier opened the second half with a 14-2 run to go up 50-20 and put the game away.
UAPB heads to the state of Nebraska this week to face the University of Nebraska on Thursday and Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday.
