After a 61-14 loss to Alcorn State on Saturday, Arkansas-Pine Bluff head coach Monte Coleman did the only thing he could do during his weekly luncheon on Tuesday.

During halftime of Sunday’s soccer game between Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alabama State, UAPB athletics director Lonza Hardy Jr. sat down with The Commercial for a question-and-answer session to discuss various topics regarding Golden Lions athletics. On the surface, the Arkansas-Pine Bluff soccer team had an incredibly impressive weekend.
LITTLE ROCK — After allowing 21 third-quarter points against Alabama A&M, Arkansas-Pine Bluff concentrated this week on being more focused coming out of halftime.
Four second-half goals pushed Arkansas-Pine Bluff to its second straight win as it played its first home game on Friday afternoon at Pumphrey Stadium.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff has entered halftime with a lead in each of its last two games; the Golden Lions haven’t won either time.
The Arkansas-Pine Bluff soccer season has been going on for over a month. The team has yet to play a home match, though.
Arkansas-Pine-Bluff’s Katy Hufnagel was named one of the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s volleyball players of the week for her performance in games from Sept. 23-29.
