BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Arkansas-Monticello true freshman kicker Jamie McGee has been named to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team for Super Region No. 3.
McGee recently completed his first collegiate season with a total of 17 made field goals on 19 attempts, setting a new UAM and Great American Conference record for field goals made in a season. He also tied the UAM and GAC single-game record with three made field goals on two different occasions throughout the season. The league’s head coaches voted him as the top kicker with a spot on the All-GAC First Team, announced on Nov. 19.
With the NCAA Division II playoffs still ongoing, McGee currently ranks fifth in the nation in field goals per game and 14th in field goal percentage.
McGee led the Boll Weevils in scoring this season with a total of 79 points for an average of 7.2 points per contest. In addition to his 17 made field goals, he was also 28-for-31 on extra points.
The Lake Charles, La. native finished the season 7-for-7 on field goals ranging from 20-29 yards, 6-for-7 from 30-39 and 4-for-5 from 40-49. He nailed two 43-yard field goals and two 42-yarders. His 43-yarder against Northwestern Oklahoma State ended up being the game-winner in a 22-20 victory over the Rangers on Sept. 21 at home.
The Daktronics Super Region No. 3 consists of teams from the GAC, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Mid America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
