ENID, Okla. — Pitcher Kade Garlington, second baseman Ben Agredano and outfielder Ray Johnson, all seniors, represent Arkansas-Monticello on the All-Great American Conference baseball first team.
The All-GAC teams were announced Friday, a day ahead of the start of the conference tournament here. UAM, the second seed, will take on fifth-seeded Southwestern Oklahoma State at 3:30 p.m. today at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
Garlington, of Shreveport, La., went 9-2 on the regular season and posted a 3.18 earned-run average. Agredano, of Anaheim, Calif., led the GAC with 71 hits and batted .388, and Bossier City, La.’s Johnson belted seven home runs, second-best in the conference.
No UAM player made the second team, but four Boll Weevils were named honorable mention: sophomore pitcher Zach McKnight, junior reliever Jeff Harvill, senior third baseman Alex Lang and senior outfielder D’Marco Poindexter.
Pine Bluff native Mason Reynolds, a senior starting pitcher for Arkansas Tech, made the second team.
