Golden Lions picked to finish fifth in the Western Division

Recently, the Southwestern Athletic Conference released its 2016 pre-season predictions, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions didn’t fare well. Coming off of one of the worst seasons in Head Coach Monte Coleman’s tenure (2-9,1-8) the Golen Lions were picked to finish fifth in the Western Division.

Bob Bailey informs Rotarians about 2016 Southwest Regional Tournament

In the dog days of the summer, the cities of Pine Bluff and White Hall will be treated to a high quality level of baseball. The 2016 13-15 year-old Southwest Regional Tournament is set to begin on July 21 with an opening banquet, and the first game is scheduled to be played on July 22. Games will be played at the historic Taylor Field and also on the campus of the White Hall Bulldogs at their baseball complex.

Weather cancels UAPB weekend games

After his team’s Southwestern Athletic Conference series with Southern University was canceled due to already fallen rain and expected rain through the weekend, Arkansas-Pine Bluff baseball coach Carlos James did something few coaches, in any sport, would ever do: He admitted his focus isn’t on his team’s next game.

Hartsfield pitches Bulldogs past Wildcats

WHITE HALL — In the midst of a season-defining stretch, the White Hall baseball team saw two of its star players — pitcher Cade Canada and right fielder Chase Bryan — go down with injuries. Faced with that adversity, the cream rose to the top on Thursday in the form of Layne Hartsfield.

MONTICELLO — The 20th-ranked Arkansas-Monticello baseball team has rescheduled this weekend’s home Great American Conference series against Southern Arkansas to Sunday and Monday with times still to be determined.

De Queen holds off White Hall

WHITE HALL — A battle between two heavyweights in the 5A-South Conference lived up to its potential. Thursday evening, the White Hall Bulldogs (15-7, 10-1) hosted the De Queen Leopards (16-4, 10-0), and heading into the game both teams were tied up at the top of the standings for first place.
