White Hall senior Harvey signs to cheer at SAU

You may have heard the story about Michael Jordan getting cut from his high school basketball team as a sophomore, well White Hall senior Kyla Harvey has a somewhat similar story of her own. On Monday, Harvey signed her letter of intent to be a member of the Southern Arkansas University spirit cheerleading squad.

The Watson Chapel girls track 4x400-meter relay team, which took third in the 5A-South Conference meet, was composed of Shanna Shavers, Timesha Cole, Cayla Trotter and Yasmin Jackson. Due to an error on the track aggregation website milesplit.com, the members of the team were incorrectly reported in a meet wrap-up that appeared in Saturday’s edition.

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello Department of Athletics held its annual student-athlete banquet on Wednesday night to celebrate the athletic, academic and civic accomplishments during the 2015-16 year. Five department-wide awards were handed out for male and female athletes of the year, male and female scholar athletes of the year and the Green and White Excellence award.
