It’s homecoming week for the Dollarway Cardinals and that will serve as extra motivation for them to go out and get another win on Friday night. The Cardinals’ fans definitely have something to be proud, and they’ll be there to support their team like always.

Wildcats prepare for conference showdown with Bobcats

Jared Dutton knows that there’s plenty of talent throughout the 5A-South Conference, but his Watson Chapel Wildcats definitely have put themselves in a good position to win a conference championship. The Wildcats are beginning to jell at the perfect time as things are really heating up in conference play.

Eagles rout Leopards in JH game

The Ridgway Christian junior high football team displayed an impressive performance on Tuesday night when they took on the Arkansas School for the Deaf Leopards. The Eagles had their way with the Leopards and they where able to win big by the score of 52-8.

Local players helped UAPB to first win

The numbers aren’t overwhelming. Nine players on a roster of 92 are said to hail from Pine Bluff. Add in a pair of Monticello kids, and just shy of 12 percent of the Arkansas-Pine Bluff football roster went to high school in The Commercial’s coverage area.

Wildcats hoping to bounce back against Scrappers

The Watson Chapel Wildcats have opened this season up playing against some tough opponents. In two weeks they have played defending 5A-East Conference champion Batesville and defending 6A state champion Pine Bluff, and this week they’ll face off against another successful program. The Wildcasts will host the Nashville Scrappers reigning winners of the 7-4A Conference, at 7:30 pm. Friday, and the game has shaped up to be an interesting one.
