White Hall duo take top prize in fishing tourney

White Hall’s Eric Agee and Floyd Fullerton won the top $2,500 cash prize in the Bill Sanders-Bo Piper Memorial Benefit Bass Tournament, held Saturday on the Arkansas River at Pine Bluff.

Agee’s and Fullerton’s five fish weighed a total of 22.23 pounds in the 17th annual event, which was held by the Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas (AAASEA). Pine Bluff’s Austin Holcomb and Blake Potter caught 20.92 pounds for second place and a $1,000 prize. Eddy Sanders and Andrew Sanders were third at 19.93 for $800.

Cory West of Pine Bluff won a $500 cash prize for the Big Bass Lunker, which weighed 6 pounds. Fishermen who were not in the top 10 could participate in drawings for $50 or $20 bills for youths.

Eighty-eight teams entered in this year’s tournament.

The tournament benefited AAASEA, which provides quality care and affordable services to people of all ages across Southeast Arkansas. All of the proceeds benefit the Area Agency’s programs and services, including Meals on Wheels.
