White Hall advances in 9-10 regional


BOSSIER CITY, La. — One more victory, and White Hall will get to play for the Little League 9- and 10-year-old Southwest Regional championship.

White Hall stayed alive for a second straight night in the tournament Tuesday after defeating Alexandria, La., 11-8. White Hall will play at 7 in the losers’ bracket final, with a spot in Thursday’s championship round at stake.

Grey Shaner was a steady force on the mound and at the plate for White Hall. He drove in five runs on two hits and scattered eight runs over eight hits in 5 1/3 innings for the victory. Shaner also struck out three batters.

Caleb Taylor worked the final two-thirds inning for the save. He walked a batter, but struck out one and did not allow a hit.

Grant Cross and Ryan Ursery also had two hits each for White Hall. Taylor, Greg Wolf and Lucas Gray each had a hit as well.
