White Hall 9- and 10-year-olds stay alive

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Two days after suffering a 10-0 loss to Bossier City National, White Hall responded in a big way to stay alive in the Little League 9- and 10-year-old Southwest Regional.

White Hall eliminated host team Bossier City American 12-0 in four innings on Monday and will take on the winner of Tulsa and Alexandria, Louisiana, at 6 tonight. Tulsa is the Oklahoma state champion.

White Hall pitched as solidly as it hit Monday, as Lucas Gray and Greg Wolf held Bossier City to one hit combined. Gray worked the first 3 1/3 innings and allowed the hit and one walk, while Wolf struck out a batter in the final two-thirds.

Four White Hall batters each drove in two runs: Caleb Taylor went 2 for 3, Grey Shaner scored twice and batted 1 for 3, and Grant Cross and Joshua Tomboli each had a hit as well.

Jack McCombs had the other hit for White Hall.

A win tonight will put White Hall in Wednesday’s losers’ bracket final.
