PB Braves dominate in win

The Pine Bluff Braves scored 12 runs in the bottom of the second inning as the semi-pro team defeated the England All-Stars 17-2 at the Pine Bluff regional baseball park.

Michael Newby is credited with the win after striking out six and allowed just three hits in four innings.

Chase Smith had another perfect day going 3 for 3 with two RBIs. Will Harris and Keena McCoy had three RBIs a piece in the win. Corey McCoy rounded things out with a 3 for 4 day and three RBIs. Pine Bluff tallied 15 hits, scoring one run in the first, two in the third and two in the fourth. The England All-Stars scored both of its runs in the top of the third.

The two teams will play again on Aug. 31 at the North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club Complex beginning at 3 p.m.
