The White Hall 14 and under all-star team won the South Arkansas state tournament on July 12 after defeating Union County 5-3 in eight innings in the championship game. Seabrook rebounds, edges Northern in extras

Seabrook nearly cost itself a championship opportunity Monday night — giving up the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning — but rebounded in the top of the eighth with two runs to defeat Pine Bluff Northern 4-2 in extra innings in the Babe Ruth 15-year-old state tournament at Taylor Field.

Northern comes alive late for rout

It took five innings and a 1-0 deficit, but the Pine Bluff Northern’s bats finally woke from their slumber as the team scored 15 runs on nine hits over the final two innings to defeat Arkansas Pulpwood of Camden 15-1 in the 15-year-old Babe Ruth state tournament at Taylor Field on Saturday.

Hartsfield gives White Hall lift over Hamburg

Soon-to-be ninth grader Layne Hartsfield tallied three RBIs and went four innings on the mound as White Hall defeated Hamburg 10-2 in the first round of the Babe Ruth 15-year-old state tournament at Taylor Field on Friday.
