Rison survives Gurdon’s upset bid

RISON — Using a 23-play, 93-yard touchdown drive, that started on the last play of the third quarter and ended with a 5-yard TD plunge by Chris Leaks on fourth down with 1:44 to go in the game, lifted the Rison Wildcats to a 26-21 victory over the Gurdon Go-Devils in the second round of the Class 2A state playoffs Friday night at Wildcat Field.

Warren welcomes Pottsville for playoff opener

Wildcats use ground, air to defeat Bears

BEARDEN — A 45-yard scoring pass from Seth Crouse to Jordan Brown on the final play of the opening half gave Rison a two-touchdown lead over Bearden and the defense limited the Bears to just a pair of first downs, as the Wildcats splashed their way to a 31-0 victory at rainy Rogers Field Friday night.
