Ridgway outruns CMA in 39-run affair


Andrew McMahan struck out 10 Christian Ministries batters in 4 2/3 innings Thursday and helped Ridgway Christian take a 22-17 victory in high school baseball at Seabrook Family Christian Center.

Only two of the six runs McMahan gave up were earned. He also allowed seven hits.

Ridgway (2-3, 1-1 AACS South) had 11 hits. Brooks Bass led the way batting 3 for 5 with three runs and two RBIs. McMahan went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Ezra Tole was 2 for 5 with a run and four RBIs.

Star City 10, Warren 3

STAR CITY — Garry Hill went 3 for 3 with two doubles, Austin Powell struck out nine, and the Bulldogs (7-1, 4-0 in 8-4A) remained undefeated with a win over the Lumberjacks (6-3, 2-2).

Powell took the mound with one out in the first and Warren ahead 2-0. He held the Lumberjacks to three hits and one walk the rest of the way.

Austin Capps and Powell each had a hit for the Bulldogs, who played just before the start of the Los Toritos Spring Break Tournament on their home field.

Watson Chapel 16, Hot Springs 0

HOT SPRINGS — The Lady Wildcats hit a pair of grand slams in the blowout road win.

Sydney Crossett, who went 3 for 6, hit a grand slam in the fourth and Natalie Johnson hit one in the seventh.

Maegan Greer picked up the complete-game victory for the Wildcats (4-3, 2-0). She allowed two hits with no walks and struck out 10.

Aungelique Sargent finished 4 for 5 with a double, Megan Moore went 3 for 5 with a double, while Lauren McCullough and Morgan Carter each went 2 for 4.
