FORREST CITY — Jacob Andersen scored four touchdowns as the Ridgway Christian Eagles defeated Calvary Christian 48-0 Saturday to finish the regular season undefeated with a perfect 7-0 record.
Andersen got Ridgway on the board in the first quarter with a 6-yard touchdown run and his twin brother Cody Anderson converted the two-point conversion to give the Eagles an 8-0 lead.
Later in the quarter, Jacob returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown which gave Ridgway a 14-0 lead.
He scored again on a 40-yard option keeper near the end of the first quarter. It gave the Eagles a 20-0 lead.
In the third quarter, on a trick play, Cody Andersen completed a 45-yard touchdown pass to Jacob. It was Ridgway’s only completed pass in the game as the Eagles racked up about 240 yards of rushing offense in the game.
Jacob finished the game with 78 yards on six carries. Jacob Dedman had five carries for 83 yards with a touchdown in the second quarter.
Dedman scored on a 65-yard rush and he completed the two-point conversion to give the Eagles a 28-0 lead. He also scored on a 33-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Cody Andersen had six carries for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Lucas Blake led Ridgway with six solo tackles. Three Ridgway players tallied five tackles in the game.
Ridgway will face Southwest Christian Academy on Friday for the Arkansas Association of Christian Schools state championship beginning at 7 p.m. The game will be held at the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock.
