Preps Roundup: Star City routs Lake Village

LAKE VILLAGE — Star City’s Jaida Harden outscored Lake Village all by herself in the Lady Bulldogs’ road win on Friday night.

Harden’s 19 points led Star City to the 67-18 win.

Latia Harris added 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 8-2 on the season.

Star City will play next in the Heber Springs tournament on Dec. 26.

Dumas 58, Crossett 44

DUMAS — Dumas used a big third quarter to pull away from Crossett in its first conference game of the season.

The Lady Bobcats (4-3, 1-0 in 8-4A) led 14-9 after one quarter and 24-19 at halftime. Dumas outscored Crossett 20-7 in the third quarter to take a 44-26 lead into the fourth.

Whitney Henderson led the Lady Cats with 22 points, while Terlecia Railey and Mona’ Mitchell added 14 and 12, respectively.

McGehee 45, Strong 44

STRONG — The McGehee boys held off Strong to stay unbeaten at 6-0.

The Owls led 41-34 before the Bulldogs hit back-to-back threes.

McGehee then took a 45-40 lead on layups by Tracy Lawson and Ryan Berry. Strong countered with a layup and two free throws in the closing seconds to set the final margin.

Lawson led McGehee with 21 points and Tre’von Spratt added 14.

Ridgway Christian 43, El Dorado West Side 41

EL DORADO — The Ridgway Christian boys won a back-and-forth game with El Dorado West Side on Friday night.

Cody Andersen and Ezra Tole led the Eagles with 10 points each, while Jacob Andersen chipped in with nine.

The Eagles improved to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Arkansas Association of Christian Schools South Conference.

Ridgway trailed 10-5 at the end of the first quarter. The game was tied 15-15 at halftime and 28-28 entering the final quarter.
