Basketball Roundup: WC starts junior high girls season with win


Two Watson Chapel players scored in double figures as the Lady Wildcats opened their junior high basketball season with a 48-30 home victory against Jack Robey on Monday.

Jakhiyah Boston led Watson Chapel with 17 points, and Cayla Trotter added 16. Yasmin Jackson had seven points in the victory.

Jack Robey won the eighth-grade girls game 26-16. Tyeshia Fields scored nine points for Watson Chapel.

Sheridan 42, Dollarway 27

SHERIDAN — The Cardinals’ season got off to a rough start on the road.

Kuron Brown scored eight points and Dionte Wilson had five for Dollarway, which will play at Jack Robey on Thursday.

Sheridan won the eighth-grade boys game 35-24.
