No easy task for first-year Dutton

In his first-ever head-coaching job at the senior high level, Watson Chapel head coach Jared Dutton is well aware of the pressure that awaits him as he tries to return the Wildcats to a champion-quality program.

New Cards hope to make their mark

Last season, the Dollarway Cardinals finished undefeated in the regular season and made it to the semifinals of the 4A state tournament before being eliminated by Booneville. They had a Division I signee in senior quarterback Josh Liddell and a talented wide receiver/defensive back in Kabion Ento — who graduated and signed with Arkansas Tech. Tough test awaits defending champs

Ridgway Christian have been very blessed in their short amount of time as a football program. The Eagles won six games in their first year and went undefeated in its second season — including an American Association of Christian Schools state championship. “Knowing what Southwest Christian had coming back and how strong Mount Olive was, I was pleasantly surprised by what we did last year,” Ridgway head coach Trent Young said. All good things must come to an end eventually, however, as the Eagles are staring down the barrel of a tough 2014 season.
