UA Notebook: Passing defense still seeking fix

FAYETTEVILLE — Only four teams in all of Football Bowl Subdivision have allowed more yards passing than Arkansas. Giving up 302.8 per game, the Razorbacks are more than 47 yards an outing behind Ole Miss for 13th in the 14-team SEC. Mississippi State threw for 508 on Saturday.

LITTLE ROCK — The talent gap between Alabama’s defense and Arkansas’ offense is intact, a circumstance underscored by the fact that Alabama made all sorts of mistakes Saturday night and still won comfortably.

Alabama LB Reggie Ragland — Ragland was a force all night, frustrating the Arkansas offense. He had eight tackles, seven solo, a sack, a tackle-for-loss, a pass break-up, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble. It was the best defensive game a player has had against Arkansas all season.
