LITTLE ROCK — Five finalists for the Broyles Award, which honors college football’s top assistant coach, have been named.
The finalists include Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, Baylor OC Philip Montgomery, Duke OC Kurt Roper, Florida State defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and Michigan State DC Pat Narduzzi.
The winner will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Marriott Hotel in Little Rock.
The award is presented by The Rotary Club of Little Rock and is named after former Arkansas head coach and athletic director Frank Broyles, who had a track record of producing some of the most successful assistant coaches-turned-head coaches, including Joe Gibbs, Hayden Fry, Raymond Berry, Jimmy Johnson, Johnny Majors, Jackie Sherrill and Barry Switzer.
