Boise State hires A-State's Harsin


JONESBORO — Bryan Harsin has stepped down as Arkansas State’s head football coach to take the same position at Boise State, Arkansas State announced Wednesday.

Harsin is a former Boise State quarterback and assistant coach with the Broncos.

Harsin becomes the fourth head coach in as many years to leave the program and the third to go after just one regular season.

Arkansas State announced Wednesday defensive coordinator John Thompson will serve as interim head coach for the Red Wolves’ Jan. 5 GoDaddy Bowl game against Ball State in Mobile, Ala. Thompson was interim coach in last January’s GoDaddy Bowl, in which A-State defeated Kent State.
