White Hall won three of five girls tennis matches against Hope on Monday, while Hope took a 4-3 edge in boys play Monday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
Erin Davis and Loveleen Kaur of White Hall each won 6-1 in singles matches over Amy Cox and Kedriel Green, respectively. Hope’s Cheyenne Burkhart defeated White Hall’s No. 1 singles player Martha Pearce 6-4.
In doubles, Pearce teamed with Hannah Johnson to beat Cheyenne Calhoun and Carla Castro 6-4, but Samantha Bowers and Kaur were defeated by Racy Poindexter and Cox 6-2.
Hope won three of the four boys singles matches. Ethan Bridgforth earned the lone victory for White Hall, beating Kyle Tompkins 6-3.
Hope’s wins included: Luis Cortez over Garrett Reid 6-3, Matthew Methvin over Dylan Quickel 7-6 and Simmons Vamber over Matthew Smith 6-4.
White Hall took two of three doubles: Aaron Burdine and Tyler Sidwell over Jonathan Lopez and Brant Cornelius 6-0, and Jacob Denman and Reid over Bobby Johnson and Tompkins, 6-1. Bridgforth and Quickel dropped a 7-6 decision to Cortez and Lopez.
