Delta River Friends of NRA to sponsor benefit

Delta Rivers Friends of NRA is holding their annual charity dinner and fund-raising auction on Sept. 15 at Harbor Oaks Restaurant in Regional Park.

The dinner is open to the public, and doors open at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $25 in advance, or $30 at the door. The ticket gets you into the event and a BBQ dinner.

Once at the event, the evening is filled with games, drawings, a silent auction, and ends with a live auction to win a variety of over 50 great, unique items, including over 20 guns.

Other available items include: sculptures, framed art, hunting equipment, children’s toys, shooting accessories and household items. Many of the available items are collectable because they are made exclusively for Friends of NRA. Many people have heard of the NRA, but not “Friends of NRA.”

Friends of NRA is a 501(c)(3) charity, and donations are tax deductable. One-hundred percent of all money raised at these events is given out in grants to support youth shooting and safety education, and range development. Common organizations that receive these grants include local 4H, Boy Scouts, and Junior ROTC programs.

“This a very fun charity event, for a worthy cause, with great food. Everyone interested in youth education and the shooting sports should attend,” a spokesman said.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting Ed Monk at 870-273-1113 or edmonk@aol.com. Individuals can also buy family or corporate tables for the evening or help sponsor the event.
