A car backed into an SUV on the parking lot of Dollar General, 8605 Dollarway Road, Sgt. Sandy Castleberry wrote in an accident report.
Juan Leonardo Tucker of 3901 Arkansas 104 told the officer he was driving across the lot in his 2007 GMC Yukon when a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Kelli Marie Jackson of 7437 Suburbia Drive, Pine Bluff, backed from a parking space into the right side of the larger vehicle.
Jackson was quoted as saying she did not see the Yukon before striking the SUV.
Patrolman Brent E. Bridges quoted Christopher B. Milligan of 109 E. Holland Ave. as saying he was unable to avoid striking a stopped car on West Holland at Ellen Drive because of the wet pavement.
Milligan said he was westbound in his 1989 GMC pickup truck when it struck the rear of a 1999 Cadillac DeVille driven by Vicki N. Strawn of 307 Green Ave. Strawn was quoted as saying she had stopped for a westbound car making a left turn.
– A car and pickup truck collided on Sheridan Road at the entrance to the Interstate 530 southbound ramp, Patrolman John Zuber wrote in an accident report.
Jose S. Pacheco of Romeoville, Ill., told the officer he was eastbound in a 2005 convertible and had stopped for the traffic light when his vehicle was struck from the rear by an eastbound 2009 Dodge pickup driven by Mallory Lunsford of 2200 Trammell Road, White Hall.
– Two cars backing out of parking spaces at Cranford’s Fresh World, 8503 Dollarway Road, at the same time collided on the parking lot, Patrolman Celena Harbison said.
Ollye Mae Robinson of 5909 W. Short Fourth Ave., Pine Bluff, driver of a 1990 Volvo, and Lena Mae Cash of 112 W. Stagecoach, Jefferson, driver of a 2004 Cadillac CTS, said they did not see the other vehicle before the collision.
– Patrolman Robert Rogers said Maria Anastasia Land, 32, of Maumelle was arrested for criminal mischief and accused of breaking a window at the American Inn & Suites, 8008 Sheridan Road, during an argument with her brother in a room at the motel.
– Mike Patel, owner of the American Inn & Suites, 8008 Sheridan Road, told Patrolman John Zuber he discovered a handgun in the microwave unit while cleaning a room.
The officer said the 9mm weapon was loaded with four rounds and a records check determined it had not been reported stolen. The room where the weapon was discovered had been occupied by a Malvern resident.
Zuber seized the weapon.
Rimel Kabjor of 300 E. Little Lane told Patrolman Tommy Kelly he missed the driveway to his residence and drove his 2005 Chrysler Sebring into a roadside ditch. The officer estimated damage to the car at $2,500.
