The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has opened bids for improvements to roadways in Jefferson and Grant counties, according to the Arkansas State Highway Commission.
The first project calls for 4.6 miles of selected sections of Highway 270 to be resurfaced, west of Pine Bluff. Cranford Construction Company of North Little Rock was awarded the contract at $779,565.24.
The work will start west of the Grant County line, and extend to Rolling Hills Road, near White Hall.
A second project calls for the replacement of the Nevins Creek Bridge on Nevins Road, in Pine Bluff. Kingridge Enterprises, Inc. of Little Rock was awarded the contract at $302,939.43.
A final project calls for the resurfacing of approximately three miles of Highway 63, east of Pine Bluff. Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Company of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was awarded the contract at $540,143.13. Work will begin at Paper Mill Road and extend westward to Highway 65B.
Work could begin on the projects in two to four weeks, weather permitting. The projects should be completed later this year.
