Nov. 5

A pickup truck and a car were involved in a collision on the parking lot of Gandy Elementary School, Patrolman Robert Rogers said, while the drivers were picking up students at the school.

Sherry D. Warriner of 602 West Street, White Hall, was quoted as saying the rear bumper of her 2008 Lincoln MKX was struck while she was in line to pick up her grandchild at the school.

Richard N. Ratliff of 6301 Jones St., Pine Bluff, he was in the line in his 1996 Chevrolet Z71 pickup when his son accidently stepped on his foot, causing the truck to hit the car.

Nov. 7

— Quincy Hill Jr., 35 of 2803 Claud Road, White Hall, was arrested by Patrolman Tommy Kelly following a traffic stop and issued a citation for driving while under the influence of intoxicants, Kelly’s arrest report indicated.

Hill failed a series of field sobriety tests and a breath test after his car was stopped at the intersection of Claud and Boast roads, the officer.

— Amon Truman Kyzer of 208 Parkway, White Hall, told Patrolman John Zuber his bank debit card had been used to make a $40 purchase at Internet website. Kyzer said he had not lost the card and had not authorized anyone to use it for the purchase.

Nov. 8

— Two cars collided on the south parking lot at White Hall High School, said Patrolman Mike Monk.

Elizabeth Nichole Denney of 737 NCTR Road, Redfield, was quoted as saying she had parked her 1994 Ford Mustang on the lot and was opening her door when a 2001 Mazda 626 driven by Samantha Lynn Peckham of 1112 W. Baldwin Road, White Hall, struck the Denney car door.

— A motorcycle struck the side of an SUV on Dollarway Road at its intersection with Anderson Street, according to an accident report file by Sgt. Sandy Castleberry.

The officer quoted Virgle J. Bennett Jr. of 2930 Arkansas 365 South, Redfield, as saying he was northbound on his 2008 Honda motorcycle when a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Lawrence Winters of 405 Reynolds Ave., White Hall, drove into the path of the motorcycle from a parking lot on the east side of Dollarway.

Winters was quoted as saying his view of the motorcycle in the inside lane was blocked by a large four-wheel drive pickup truck that turned into the parking lot.

Nov. 9

Sgt. Sandy Castleberry said a deer ran into the side of a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck in the 1000 block of Robin Road, damaging the left front bumper and left door of the truck.

Chase R. Ward of 6905 White Oak Cove, Pine Bluff, said he was southbound on Robin when the animal ran into the truck.

Nov. 13

Two vehicles collided on an exit ramp at the Interstate 530 and Arkansas 256 interchange, according to Patrolman Tommy Kelly.

Heather D. Christian of 7115 Jeffcoat Road, Pine Bluff, was quoted as telling the officer she had stopped her northbound 2003 Pontiac Bonneville at the exit ramp’s yield sign when a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck struck the rear of the car.

Lawrence M. Conyer of 1400 E. 39 Ave., Pine Bluff, was quoted as saying his truck struck the rear of the car.

Nov. 4

White Hall firemen responding to an alarm at the Erica Travis residence, 1600 Boastwood Drive, said they found a fire in the fireplace and determined the damper was closed, causing the house to fill with smoke.

Assistant Fire Chief David Hopson said firemen used fans to clear the smoke from the residence after opening the damper.
