Police Report


On Aug. 1 at 5:55 p.m., Officer Stephen Moreau was sent to the intersection of Dollarway Road and Michelle Street in reference to a possible accident.

David Kessinger of Pine Bluff said he was north on Dollarway Road pulling a utility trailer. There was a two-wheeled hand truck on the trailer that was not strapped down and Kessinger reported hearing the hand truck fall off the trailer. He said he saw two cars miss the hand truck and hand to turn around to get the hand truck.

Kessinger said when he got back to the hand truck, a vehicle had struck the hand truck and was leaking fluid.

The driver of that vehicle, Jenett Demetre of Pine Bluff said she was north on Dollarway Road and noticed something in her lane of traffic but it was too later for her to stop in time before striking the object with the front of her vehicle. Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Burt Hood Towing.

On Aug. 3, an accident was reported on the parking lot of No. 3 Smart Drive.

Corey N. Scrivner of White Hall said he was backing out of a parking space and struck another vehicle in the driver’s side front quarter panel, causing damage to the rear bumper of his vehicle. Scrivner was driving a 1995 Saturn.

The driver of the other vehicle, Terrrance J. Jensen of White Hall said he was northbound on Smart Drive when the other vehicle backed out of a parking space and struck his vehicle in the driver’s side front quarter panel. Jensen was driving a 2005 Volkswagon.

On Aug. 4 at 2:48 a.m., the White Hall Fire Department responded to an alarm at 157 West Little Lane. No fire or smoke was located and no one was at home.

On Aug. 5 at 7:30 a.m., a one-vehicle accident was reported on Rock Street, 200 feet north of Maddox Street.

Summer Henderson, 16, of White Hall, said she was traveling south on Rock Street and was attempting to get a grasshopper out of her vehicle when she left the roadway and struck a tree on the front passenger’s side. Henderson refused medical treatment.

Damage to the 2007 GMC Henderson was driving was estimated at $5,000.

On Aug. 5 at 8:42 a.m, an alarm was reported at 157 West Little Lane but was cancelled before trucks arrived.

On Aug. 5 at 12:20 p.m., an accident was reported on the parking lot of Big Red Travel Plaza at 8110 Sheridan Road.

Willie Wilburn of Marion said he had stopped the truck he was driving and had let off the brake and the truck slowly rolled backwards and struck 1996 Ford dump truck that was parked and unoccupied.

Damage to the dump truck was on the right front close to the headlight. No damage was reported to the other vehicle.

On Aug. 5 at 4:48 p.m., an accident was reported on the parking lot of Toadally Kids at 403 Sybil Drive.

Courtney Oliver of White Hall said she was walking out the door of the business when she heard the collision.Oliver was driving a 2002 Honda that was parked and unoccupied., and suffered damage to the driver’s side rear.

The driver of the other vehicle, Jamie Coleman of Pine Bluff said she was backing out of the parking lot and did not see the other vehicle until she backed into it. Coleman was driving a 2005 Hyundai that received damage to the passenger side rear.

On Aug. 5 at 6:47 p.m., officers were sent to a reported domestic disturbance between brother’s at 95 Westchester Drive.

Eric Dion Johnson, 30, was arrested for disorderly conduct for using obscene language outside the residence after being warned twice to calm down and stop cursing.

On Aug. 6 at 2:40 a.m., Officer Robert Rogers was on patrol in the 2200 block of Claud Road when he saw a white male walking south on Claud Road. Rogers said he recognized the male as Jonathon Webb, 34, because of prior contacts involving domestic disturbances with Webb’s girlfriend.

Rogers said Webb had parked his car at a vacant residence and could not give give a reasonable explanation for why he had parked the car. Webb reportedly became argumentative and was arrested for loitering.

On Aug. 8 at 7:01 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of open burning at 100 Timber Lane. The county was under a burn ban at the time. The property owner had cleared the lot the day before and burned a pile of organic debris, and the fire was extinguished before he left. Apparently the fire rekindled over night and firefighters extinguished it with water and foam.

On Aug. 8 at 4:36 p.m., a grass fire was reported at 10008 Dollarway Road. The fire was located behind 9808 Dollarway Road. The landlord of the property had started a fire to burn a brush pile and was not aware of the burn ban. The fire was extinguished.

On Aug. 11, Officer Robert Rogers was on patol in the area of Jefferson Parkway and Dollarway Road when he saw a white Ford Explorer approaching the intersection traveling east. Rogers said he saw that when the vehicle prepared to turn, he saw that the brake lights were not working and saw a temporary tag on the vehicle that had expired.

After stopping the vehicle, Rogers said he spoke to the driver Delevyon Wickett who said his driver’s license was suspended, and noticed a half empty bottle of vodka in the back cargo area of the vehicle and a cup in the floorboard that was standing upright.

The backseat passenger, Mason Wickett, 21, confirmed that he had been mixing vodka and orange juice and was arrested for drinking on the highway. Deleyvon Wickett was issued citation for driving on a suspended license, failure to register and no proof of insurance.
