A car struck a deer on Dollarway Road at 10:30 a.m., Patrolman Stephen Moreau wrote in his report. The officer said a 2009 Honda Accord driven by Melanie R. Lunsford of 111 Dogwood Ave., White Hall, struck the animal when it ran from the west side of the roadway into Lunsford’s path.
A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department car sustained an estimated $3,500 in damage when it ran off the pavement at the intersection Robin and White Hall roads at 2:30 a.m., Patrolman Brian R. Hornsby said. Hornsby quoted Deputy Sheriff Dennis A. Kendall of Pine Bluff as saying he was northbound in a 2010 Ford patrol car and attempting to negotiate the curve as it turns from Robin to White Hall. The deputy said the front tires began to slide and the vehicle continued straight, coming to rest in a ditch on the north side of White Hall Road.
Christie Webb, 39, of 6964 Arkansas 35, Grapevine, was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with theft of $200, a portion of the proceeds from a garage sale held in the 1000 block of Boast Road, Patrolman Stephen Moreau said.
The officer quoted Andrea Taylor of 7805 Tall Oak Lane, Pine Bluff, one of the participants in the garage sale, as saying two $100 bills were taken from a plastic bag containing her portion of the sales. Moreau said Webb was identified by witnesses as being present at the sale and was stopped by Pine Bluff officers in the 3800 block of Camden Road after she was followed by the witnesses.
