A pickup truck backed into an unoccupied parked vehicle on a city street, Sgt. Mark Bradley wrote in an accident report.
The officer quoted Keith Shelton of 806 Green Oaks Lane as saying he was backing his 2002 Ford pickup from his driveway and struck a 2013 Hyundai owned by Skylar Summerford of 405 River Road, Redfield that was parked against an adjacent curb.
The driver of a 1999 Ford Escort was quoted as saying she lost control of the eastbound vehicle on West Holland near McGehee Street during an argument with a passenger, telling Patrolman Robert Rogers the car left the roadway and struck a fence in the 1200 block of McGehee.
Colinda G. Flumm of 9401 Henderson Road, Pine Bluff, acknowledged she struck Larry Bradshaw of 1003 Semora Road, White Hall, in the face during the argument, adding Bradshaw then grabbed the steering wheel, causing the car to leave the roadway and strike the fence, Rogers report indicated.
Damage to the car was estimated at $2,000, with the fence sustained $1,000 in damage, Rogers said.
— Lamar Croseford, 34, of 1416 Hutson St., Pine Bluff, was jailed for investigation of possession of controlled substances after the car in which he was a passenger was stopped for a traffic violation, Patrolman Brian Hornsby wrote in his report.
The officer said a routine records check indicated Croseford was wanted from Pine Bluff District Court on a failure to appear warrant. During a search of his clothing, officers said they found a number of pills and tablets in a bottle in his clothing.
— Two cars collided on White Hall Road just west of Dollarway Road, Patrolman Robert Rodgers said, when one vehicle began backing up on White Hall.
Jessica Kalkbrenner of 8140 U.S. 79 South, Pine Bluff, was quoted as saying she was eastbound on White Hall in her 2003 Toyota and had stopped for the traffic light to change.
When the light did not change, she told the officer she began backing up and backed into a 2011 Honda driven by Susan A. York of 1105 Lakeview Drive, Pine Bluff. York told the officer she was leaving the parking lot of Big Jim’s convenience store and turning onto White Hall when the collision occurred.
White Hall firemen were dispatched to the Dollar General store, 8605 Dollarway Road, in response to an alarm. Christy Spicer, store manager, told firemen she had heard a “popping” noise in the rear storage area and thought she smelled smoke.
Fire Marshal Bill Beadle said there was no fire, but he determined the exit door and breaker box were “totally blocked” in violation of the fire code.
