White Hall is now home to the Veranda, a full-range massage and day spa owned and operated by Kelly Bullard.
Bullard, a license massage therapist, spoke of her reasons for opening a spa by saying, “I was in the medical field for 25 years and was kind of burned out but I still wanted to do something that would help people.”
The desire to help others lead Bullard to resign from her job and go to school to learn massage therapy.
Bullard faced challenges as she prepared to move into her building located at 10008 Dollarway Road.
“We had to gut it completely and start from scratch,” Bullard said.
Since its opening in October 2012, the spa has grown and expanded the services offered. Bullard continues to receive training and certification in new and innovative massage techniques.
Patrons of the spa can be pampered from head to toe. Some of the services offered include facials, full body massage, non-surgical face lifts, wraps and infrared sauna, just to name a few. Bullard is also certified to perform oncology massages which aid cancer patients. Other specialty services include children and pregnancy massage.
Bullard has created an environment in which she hopes to help people relax and rejuvenate. She said that she wants everyone to feel comfortable when they come in.
“If you are timid about a message you can undress to your comfort level and I will work around what I have to work around in order to take care of the client and meet their needs,” Bullard said.
The current success of the spa has been thrilling for Bullard. She discussed future plans for the business and said, “I would like to expand and offer even more services, maybe someday add another licensed therapist. Right now, I am the only one.”
The Veranda is open and is accepting new clients. Bullard is eager to provide her services and promote overall body wellness.
