“A great place to call home” will be this year’s theme for White Hall’s annual Founders Day celebrations.
Mayor Noel Foster addressed the city council during its monthly meeting on July 15 and provided a rundown of the upcoming festivities.
He then updated the aldermen on the current progress of other ongoing city projects.
According to Foster, the city opened bids for construction of the new museum on July 9 and Southern Construction came in with the winning bid. A bid for construction on the new aquatics park came in slightly over budget and further consideration is needed before it can be accepted.
Ellen Welch provided the council with the city’s financial report and David Beck told members about the Planning Commissioners meeting that was held on July 8.
There was no old business and the only new business on the agenda was to seek the council’s approval to waive the rummage sale fees for trade days which will be held on August 3. The motion passed unanimously and with no further business the meeting was adjourned.
