It’s hot and it is August … and that means White Hall Founders Day is in swing.
Another successful Trade Days on Saturday officially opened the month-long celebration.
Residents across the city can held yard sales at their homes as the city’s yard sale fees were waived for the day.
Events continue this Saturday with beauty pageants.

This year’s pageant theme is Gatsby Style.
White Hall Divisions are as follows:
Bitty Babies — 0-17 months old
Teeny Tots — 18 months to 3 years
Itsy Bitsy — 4-6 years old
Petite — 7-9 years old
Junior — 10-12 years old
Teen — 13-16 years old
Miss — 17-25 years old
Mrs. — 18 and above, married (Must have five or more contestants entry or this division will be CANCELLED)
Age divisions are decided by your age on or before the first day of the pageant, Aug. 12, 2013. You CAN move up an age group but you cannot move down. If you win an age division, you are not eligible for that age division again.
The pageants begin at 10 a.m, for Bitty Babies thru Junior and at 6 p.m. for Teen, Miss and Mrs. competition. The pageants will be held at the White Hall High school gym.
A golf tournament will be held on Aug. 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Arsenal Golf Course. This year’s event will be a two-man scramble and the entry fee is $80 per team. There will be a $10,000 hole-in-one prize and various other prizes.
On Aug. 24, a parade will travel down Dollarway Road and end in the city park where guests can enjoy vendor booths, games, a talent show and more.
