The nation’s fallen on the battlefield and veterans of the military, family members and friends will be remembered and honored May 27 during a Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Monument at the White Hall Museum beginning at 10 a.m.
Army Col. David L. Musgrave, commander of the Pine Bluff Arsenal; Bo Fontaine, former Jefferson County sheriff and decorated Vietnam War veteran; and White Hall Mayor Noel Foster will speak at the ceremony.
The White Hall JROTC, under the direction of Sgt. Maj. Larry Adams, will post the colors and the precision drill team will participate.
Richard A. Bailey Jr. and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Brass Quintet will perform. Alderman David Beck will serve as master of ceremonies.
Members of ABATE, the Fallen Riders and Genesis Motorcycle groups will conduct a processional ride.
Mary Lou Mauldin, director of the museum at 9009 Dollarway Road, said all veterans are invited to attend, adding that the veterans will be given special recognition.
A flyover at the end of the ceremony is by the Razorback Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association based at Grider Field
Mauldin said museum volunteers will serve light refreshments after the ceremony and ample parking will be provided for guests.
