LITTLE ROCK — Improvements to Interstate 530 are requiring a traffic shift in southern Pulaski County, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Crews will be constructing a new northbound bridge over Clear Creek. The work will require traffic to shift to one lane in each direction, between Woodson Road and Hensley Road (mile marker 13). A concrete barrier wall will be installed to separate traffic on what’s normally just the southbound side.
The traffic shift began Thursday afternoon, Sept. 5. The work on this bridge is expected to last four months.
The entire 7.4 mile resurfacing job, southwest of Wrightsville, is expected to be complete in the summer of 2014. Cranford Construction Company of North Little Rock was awarded the contract at $13,525,134.63.
Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
