Hundreds of visitors and participants braved the heat at Founders Day on Saturday.
One cool place was where the White Hall Lions Noon Club pancake breakfast opened the day at 6 a.m. at City Hall, with a pie baking contest following that afternoon.
It was evident that much work had been put into the many floats and decorated vehicles that paraded Dollarway Road. One of the most attractive floats was that of Cornerstone Church, as it was the over-all winner. In the open category the first place float winner was the White Hall Freshman Academy Cheerleaders. Taking second place was the White Hall High School cheerleadering squad with the White Hall High School Steppers coming in third. In the church category following Cornerstone as the over-all winner was Bethany and then the White Hall United Methodist Church.
The stage in City Park was filled with great and exciting entertainment throughout the day. One of the singing entertainers the stage was Morgan Anne Hulse, the newly crowned 2013 Miss White Hall.
The park was filled with people visiting the many vendors and enjoying the variety of foods being served, as children and adults were also busy participating in fun games that were there.
Overall, the 2013 Founders Day celebration was a huge success, a spokesman said.
