MONTICELLO — First-time freshmen and transfer students will learn how to successfully manage the transition to college at orientation sessions Aug. 20-21 at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Freshmen orientation will be held Monday, Aug. 20, in the Fine Arts Center. Freshmen with last names beginning with A through L will attend a session at 9 a.m. Freshmen with last names beginning with M through Z will attend orientation at 1 p.m.
New transfer students will attend orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 9 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Invitation letters have been mailed to all first-time freshmen and transfer students. The orientation sessions are designed to acquaint new students with campus life, provide tips for time management and academic success as well as information about extracurricular activities.
Hospitality tents sponsored by Simmons Bank, Union Bank, and the Arkansas Superior Federal Credit Union will be located around campus providing free hot dogs, chips, drinks and water. A hospitality center sponsored by Aramark Food Services will be located in the University Center.
An Organization Fair will be held in the Green Room of the University Center from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to provide new students with information about campus student organizations.
