Sponsorship agreement on board’s agenda

The White Hall School Board Tuesday night was expected to approve a sponsorship agreement with Pine Bluff National Bank to include the cost of a sound system for the new video scoreboard at Bulldog Stadium. The bank has also agreed to donate some funding for the purchase of a new baseball scoreboard.

PBNB will pay $30,000 for the purchase of the sound system for the stadium on the White Hall High School campus, with funding going to the baseball scoreboard, under the terms of the five-year agreement.

Other business on the briefer than normal agenda, directors were expected:

■ To consider an administrative recommendation to deny a proposal from the Classified Personnel Policy Committee calling for bus drivers who are certified teachers in the district to receive pay when they are required to attend in-service training as teachers.

The recommendation indicated the board will be expected to address raises and step pay hikes in May.

■ Hear a report on the program to reduce energy costs started last year, indicating a savings of $106,768 or 13.79 percent of projected expenditures for district buildings.

■ Approve personnel contracts following an executive session.

■ Students recognized for accomplishments included Morgan Aldridge, Jessica Green, Regan Milligan, Charley Parsley, Molly Tibbs, Halea Martin and Tanner Attwood, All-State Choir; Julie Poss, All-State Band; and state FBLA conference recipients, Jason Taylor, third place in accounting II, Will Cheeseman, fourth place in office procedures, and Courtney Hunter, fourth place in personal finance.

■ Consider a bid of $7,698 from Showcase of Floors Inc., Pine Bluff, to replace carpet in three WHHS classrooms with tile in the third phase of the renovation project.

■ To approve a number of requests to use district facilities.
