Pull tabs collected for charity

Are the pull tabs on the top of a soft drink can of any value? Students at White Hall’s G.R. Taylor Elementary School used theirs to benefit a worthy cause, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas.

The Pop Tab Pandemonium Contest weigh-in was April 19 at the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, and Mrs. Tammie Canada, principal, along with Ron Wolter, Amy Allen and Pam McFall, took a group of students to donate 185 pounds of tabs on behalf of the school.

The students had an opportunity to visit the event’s booths and tour the library for free.

Taylor Elementary will continue to collect tabs as an ongoing project. Individuals and companies wishing to contribute to the project may deliver pop tabs to Taylor Elementary office at 805 West St., White Hall, said Wolter, project coordinator.
