Landowners and land managers are invited to a soil health workshop on Oct. 30 at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The free event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the S.J. Parker 1890 Extension Building, 2300 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive. The workshop is designed to be a practical approach to improving soil health for profit and stability on the farm. Topics include:
- What is soil health and why should I care?
- How can I tell if my soil is healthy?
- How do I manage for good soil quality on my farm?
Workshop presenters are David Lamm and Steve Woodruff of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service. The workshop is sponsored by UAPB and the USDA-NRCS Booneville Plant Materials Center. For more information, call the center at (479) 675-5182.
