HAMMOND, La. — Southeastern Louisiana pounded out 19 hits, including four doubles and a triple, en route to a 14-1 baseball victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday night.
UAPB (5-12) held Southeastern scoreless until the fourth inning, and the host Lions scored in each inning from there. They had two runs in the third, one in the fourth, four in the fifth, two in the sixth, three in the seventh and two in the eighth.
UAPB’s lone score came on a solo home run by Isias Alcantar in the second inning.
Starter Jaron Gold (1-1) gave up six earned runs on 10 hits and struck out three in 4 1/3 innings, taking the loss.
It was Southeastern’s best offensive game since a 15-4 win over Nicholls State on May 8, 2011.
The Golden Lions and Southeastern Lions will meet again at 2 p.m. today.
