Lady Lions look to take ‘Magic’ out of L-O

The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions will host the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians at 6 p.m. today at H.O. Clemmons Arena.

UAPB currently sits at 1-3 after back-to-back losses to Alabama and Alabama-Birmingham on Nov. 17 and 19.

Against Alabama, Lakendra Marsh led UAPB with 16 points on 5 of 9 shooting. Wright had 13 points an Chi Chi Okwumabua had 10 points for the Lady Lions.

Against UAB, Marsh led the team with eight points.

The Lady Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen College are 2-5 with wins over Southern Arkansas (59-53) and Selma University (57-42).

Teneshia Jones and Ashley Attaway each had 10 points in the first round of the JCJ Classic against Selma. Nicole Swick added 14 rebounds.

The Lady Magicians lost in the second round to Rust College.

The Lady Lions matched their win total from last season when they defeated Philander Smith 67-48 in their home opener on Nov. 15.
